matriheal - a Fraunhofer IMWS spin-off
matriheal is a start-up project of the »Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IMWS«. The aim of this project is to expand the business model, to prepare IP and technology transfer as well as company foundation.
matriheal aims to establish elastin for medical and cosmetic applications. First of all we focus on the production of highly pure and soluble elastin that meets the quality requirements for use in medical and cosmetic products. Our goal is to produce elastin at marketable prices and place it as a raw material which we can customize according to the intended use. Additionally, matriheal is developing innovative medical products based on elastin for the treatment of chronic and secondary healing wounds. This product line will be established in a second step.
matriheal is open to investors who want to take the great chance to commit themselves to innovative and sustainable products on the markets for cosmetics and medical applications and thus support the further development of matriheal.
The idea of matriheal was funded by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft within the »AHEAD« funding program as well as by the European Union (ESF) and the state of Saxony-Anhalt within the »AIMS plus Startup- & Growth-Accelerator« program.
